It’s Friday! That means it’s time for my weekly wrap-up. This is my chance to tell you about what I’ve been up to, and what I’m loving this week! You’ll see that some of it is nutrition and health related, and some of it is just for fun. Let’s go!

What I’m Eating:

This has been one of those weeks with travel and classes and lots of work happening. Meals have been quick and simple. I’ve been sticking with the basic format of protein of choice for that day and lots of veggies on the side. It really hasn’t been too exciting on the food front around here. My goal for next week is to break out the crock pot and/or InstantPot to have some easy one-pot meals. I’m thinking I just might make this Chicken Yum Yum from Predominantly Paleo again because it was so good, and the leftovers were delicious, too! I wrote about this a few weeks back, but I’m craving it again.

What I’m Reading:

I still didn’t really have any time for reading this week. Sigh. If you haven’t read the second part in my adrenal fatigue series, you should check it out. I’m sharing my own personal journey with adrenal fatigue.Weekly Wrap-Up: Oct. 23 - 29, 2016 | rashon It’s pretty personal, but I’m hoping it might help others.

Bossypants by Tina Fey. I may not have been able to read anything new this week, but I will give you a recommendation. This is an older book, so many of you may have read it already, but if not, I suggest you grab yourself a copy. There are so many funny moments, but some poignant ones as well, and her story is a true testament to never giving up on your dreams. Besides all that, I can relate with being known as a bossy woman, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

What I’m Watching:

Love Actually. Okay, I know what you’re thinking – this is random. So here’s the deal. I had never seen this movie, except for the last 30 – 45 minutes. That’s right, I had only seen the end. I like romantic comedies, but I’m pretty picky, so I had never bothered to watch the whole thing. I usually watch action or suspense or comedy movies. I was away this pastWeekly Wrap-Up: Oct 23 - 29, 2016 | rashon weekend with my fabulous sister-in-law, and we both decided it was about time that I watched the whole movie. Let me tell you, the ending is so much better, and makes way more sense, when you know the whole backstory! Ha. Look, I’m going to keep it really real here – there was candy involved. ? Candy (sugar) is my nemesis. Yes, nutrition is my job, and I have a problem with sugar. The struggle is real, y’all. It’s something that I have to work on, and be aware of, because I tend to overdo it. This weekend was a fun getaway, with some work mixed in, and I chose to enjoy it. I absolutely try to leave it out of my diet most of the time, and choose only special occasions to have it. Why am I telling you this? Because we all struggle with one thing or another, and we’re not alone in it. If you want some extra help cutting sugar out, or just finding a sustainable way to eat healthier foods, send me an email.

Anyway, back to the movie – it was great to finally know the entire story and not just the end. Movies are always my idea of a good night in.

What I’m Wearing:

I promised some non-plaid flannel clothing items this week, so here we go! First, I am in love with this Metallic-Trim Henley from the Gap. It is perhaps the softest t-shirt I’ve had in quite awhile. I chose the moonless night color, but there are 7 other great colors to choose from. This will be a fall staple for sure. One thing to note is that these are very snug-fitting shirts, despite what the picture would lead you to believe. If you don’t love a form fitting henley, I would definitely recommend going up a size in this.Gap Metallic-Trim Henley | rashon

My sister-in-law and I did a little shopping while we were away this weekend, and I picked up this cute Blossom Mixed Media Lantern Blouse at Loft. (Hey, I really do shop at places other than Old Navy and Gap!) I’m loving the bell sleeves and color of this shirt, but there are other patterns and colors as well. It is the perfect weight for this transitional weather.Loft Blossom Mixed Media Lantern Blouse | rashon

I tried on this Cuffed Ribtrim Sweater in the Loft store, but the sizes were pretty limited. The large was just way too big, and they didn’t have a medium. I tried on the charcoal gray color and loved it (because gray, always gray. Or black, but I digress), but this chocolate truffle color is really pretty, too! I’ve been thinking about this sweater since Saturday, so maybe I just need to bite the bullet and order one. It’s 50% off right now, so if you like it, go grab one! It definitely has a loose, relaxed fit, so you may want to size down on this.Loft Cuffed Ribtrim Sweater | rashon

And finally, as you know, I’ve been on the hunt for just the right bootie to pair with my skinny jeans, and I’m pretty sure I finally found what I’ve been looking for all this time (yes, that was way dramatic). I got the Lucky Brand Eller Bootie in the Brindle Oiled Suede color. It is the perfect taupe – looks brown in some light, and a bit gray in others, but it will go with everything! There are 7 other colors to choose from, and these are currently 25% off. I would definitely size up by a 1/2 size as they run a bit small. As a side note, I have another pair of Lucky booties that have held up perfectly for several seasons.Nordstrom Lucky Brand Eller Bootie | rashon

I can’t say enough about what this incredible company is doing to promote healthy eating from a very young age! Great work, Lilly & Bella! (And stay tuned for a more in-depth post soon!)

What I’m Looking Forward To:

I have a big milestone coming up in a few weeks, which will be the beginning of a lot of new things for me. Pretty excited to see what happens with that. We have some travel coming up as well, and even though it’s mostly work, I’m determined to make it fun!

What are your favorites from the week?
