Hi! I’m Kelly.
I’m a wife, stepmom, dog mom, food lover, travel enthusiast, cookbook collector, gardening fanatic, book worm, trauma and chronic illness survivor and business owner.
First and foremost, I am a woman. And I know what it is like to just want to feel good in your own skin—from the inside out. For 25 years, I suffered from chronic migraines that became my “norm.” My first onset happened at age 12 and lasted for six months straight. Doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong at first, and I learned how to live with chronic pain and discomfort, spending the next two decades of my life with a headache—everyday.
Like you, I know what it’s like to feel like your health isn’t exactly where you want it to be, or to wonder if there’s something more than the current state you’re in, but to also feel like you have to settle. Since no one else can figure it out for you, you just have to deal.
Be it constipation, bloating, a slow metabolism, seasonal allergies, low thyroid, an autoimmune disease, IBS, embarrassing breakouts, low energy, anxiety, stress or simply not feeling like yourself, I know what it’s like to want something different, but feel stuck in your own body at the same time.
Enter: My lightbulb moment—the moment my whole life (and health) changed.
After spending 25 years just “dealing” with the symptoms, popping headache medications daily and trying to get on with my life, I had an Oprah-like “aha moment” intervention when I read a book called “Wheat Belly” of all things, and discovered a secret no doctor ever told me. In it, there was a blurb about the link between gluten intolerance and migraines, so I decided to experiment.
I cut gluten out of my diet, and within 30 days, I was migraine free!
After 25 years of daily headaches, they were no longer and I immediately realized the power that food has over our health. In fact, not only did my headaches go away, but better nutrition was also the medicine for helping me improve symptoms of adrenal fatigue, thyroid imbalances, clear up my skin, and get my low energy back on track. From that point on, I became a passionate advocate for the power of nutrition, and began educating myself on everything nutrition and wellness related.
Just a few years later, I found myself graduating with honors from Bauman College as a Certified Nutrition Consultant—after spending the previous 15 years working in Marketing and Public Relations.
Upon graduation, I started my holistic nutrition practice, rashon, and I haven’t looked back since.
What is rashon?
rashon is the word ration spelled phonetically, meaning “a sufficient or adequate amount.”
By eating the right, or adequate, foods for your unique health needs, you can drastically improve your quality of life, and in many cases, reverse disease and illness.
The truth is, I can talk all day long about nutrition and lifestyle, but I’ve learned through my own wellness journey that our spiritual health matters just as much as our physical health. It is only through earnestly seeking God, the Creator of All Things, that I have begun to understand what real health and wellness truly means. Our spiritual foundations drive everything else – our minds, bodies and souls are all connected and because of that, when one area of our lives is out of balance, the other areas get affected. You have to address all aspects of mind, body and soul in order to find true health and wellness.
Over the years I have developed my own systems and practices to help me stay on track with my spiritual, physical and mental health. Through my email newsletter, the pages of this website, working with me directly, and the physical products I offer, it is my goal to share with you every single resource I have so that you can take your health into your own hands.
It is my life’s mission to empower others to live vibrant, healthy lives through spiritual encouragement, whole-foods based nutrition, and holistic education, bio-individualized to you. It is my hope to point you back to God, The Creator of All Things, in whom true health and wellness is found, always and in all ways.
Let’s connect – shift from feeling overwhelmed, at a loss, stressed out or sick and tired (of being sick and tired) to marching forward into taking back your health (and life) into your own hands.
“A cheerful heart does good like medicine; but a broken spirit makes one sick.” Proverbs 17:22
